Teen volunteers needed for Reading Buddies!

The Library will be trying out a new program this summer called "Reading Buddies." We'll be pairing up kids and teens one-on-one to practice reading skills. Kid Buddies will have to be going into 2nd grade (only) and Teen Buddies will have to be entering at least 7th grade. Buddies will meet at The Library on Tuesday afternoons during the summer and take turns reading to each other for an hour. Teen Buddies will volunteer a total of two hours each week by arriving a half hour early and staying a half hour late. Before each session, Teen Buddies will be responsible for reviewing their books and setting up. After each session, Teen Buddies will be responsible for planning the next session by selecting books. The most important thing is for us to have really fun, enthusiastic Teen Buddies who love working with kids.

Want some more info about becoming a Teen Buddy? Please call the Youth Services Department at (732) 390-6789 and ask for Suzanne. If I'm not in, just leave a message and I'll call you back. Or you can e-mail me at ysdesk@ebpl.org with "Teen Buddies" in the subject line.

I hope to hear from some of you soon!
